Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the substances retarding the combustion process- the flame retardants. Its content is a theoretical description of the combustion with subsequent focus on the process of wood burning. The important part of the work is also information about the flame retardants, their features, partitioning and efficiency. The main focus of the work is the experimental part, which focuses on a comparison of flame retardants used with clean wood and within each other. The important point for comparison was calculating indexes of spread of flame and its spreading speed in the dual trace tunnel test and information about combustibility and flame movement in the combustibility test.
Thanks to the acquired data I concluded that using the flame retardants the indexes of spread of flame and the speed of flame spreading altogether with combustibility compared with clean wood were significantly reduced. In conclusion both used products have significant retardation effects but the Plamostop D from the foaming retardants group is in comparison more effective than the CF substance.
