Negativní vlivy provozu obloukových pecí na napájecí síť

Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of negative effects of arc furnace operation on the power supply grid. In the introductory part, the main causes of these effects are identified, particularly the generation of higher-order harmonics, voltage unbalance, low power factor, and voltage fluctuations leading to flicker. Subsequently, available mitigation methods are analyzed, including compensation filters, SVC devices, and STATCOM systems. The next part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the actual operating conditions of an electric arc furnace in a specific selected steel plant, where power quality parameters are evaluated and compared with permissible limits. Based on the obtained data, a critical assessment of the effectiveness of the current power supply configuration of the electric arc furnace is carried out. In the final part, possible modifications to the compensation equipment are proposed, aiming to improve power quality and reduce negative impacts on the network. These proposals are then assessed in terms of technical feasibility and operational benefits. The thesis thus provides a comprehensive view of electric arc furnace power supply issues and possibilities for its optimization.
