The aim of the Diploma Thesis is the design and assessment of the timber footbridge. the introductory part of the thesis deals with the historical and current construction systems of timber footbridges. The next chapter is the design of 3 alternatives of timber footbridges over the watercourse, with a span of 40 m. For alternatives 1 and 2, the design and the assessment of the supporting elements in the ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state were elaborated. For alternative 3, design and assessment of the supporting elements the ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state and dynamic behavior of the structure were elaborated.
