Vliv demokracie na ekonomický růst

Abstract

Práce „Vliv demokracie na ekonomický růst“ navázala na četné empirické výzkumy zkoumající vztah politického režimu a ekonomického růstu. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, zda je ekonomický růst ovlivněn ideologickou orientací vlády. Tento vliv byl zkoumán pomocí ekonometrického regresního modelu na vzorku demokratických států. První kapitola byla zaměřena na objasnění základních teoretických souvislostí týkajících se státu, ideologie, demokracie a také teorií ekonomického růstu. Obsahem druhé kapitoly byl nástin literatury z této oblasti a dále metodologie dat vstupujících do modelů. Třetí kapitola již byla plně zaměřena na vytvoření dvou ekonometrických modelů zkoumajících vliv ideologické orientace vlády na životní úroveň a ekonomický růst. V obou případech proměnná vyjadřující ideologickou orientaci vlády vyšla statisticky nevýznamná. Proto je možno soudit, že ideologie vlády nepatří mezi významné faktory ovlivňující ekonomický růst nebo životní úroveň.

Thesis „The Influence of Democracy on Economic Growth“ followed up many empirical studies which were focused on relationship between political regime and economic growth. The aim of this work is to find out whether the economic growth is influenced by the ideological orientation of the state government. For investigation of this influence an econometric regression model was used which contained a sample of the democratic states. The first part of the study deals with the theoretical background of state, ideology, democracy and economic growth. The second part of this study is focused on the literature which deals with this topic, and on methodology. The third part of the study creates two econometric models which investigate influence of ideological orientation of the state government on the economic level and economic growth. Both cases show that ideological orientation of the government is statistically insignificant. According to the result of work it can be said that ideological orientation of the state government does not belong to singnificant factors which can influence economic growth or living standarts.
