Abstract
The presented work describes the analysis of the desalination processes. From this topic the paper treats mainly the ion exchange and there is also a set of apparatus designed for its use. The first part is general and deals with the theory of ion exchange, it analyzes specifically the characteristics of process substances - ion exchangers, the reactions of these ion exchangers, the equations of this reaction, differentiation of ion exchangers and their types and existing forms.
The second part of this work is experimental. It is dealt here about the design of the laboratory apparatus for ion-exchange, description of the individual components of the laboratory apparatus and its assembly with the attached photographs. The experimental measurement on the assembled apparatus was tested using mine water, selected from mine water treatment plant Československé armády Jan Šverma. Referred mine water was used based on the composition, which was suitable for testing the apparatus considering to the used ion-exchangers. Ion exchanger was then briefly characterized. After testing the laboratory apparatus using mine water and subsequent determination of substances for determining the rate of capture of these substances by the given ion exchanger, here are presented the measurement procedures that were performed on ion exchangers, including the achieved results.
