Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the recycling of end-of-life tyres and evaluates the different techniques that can be used to effectively dispose of this type of waste. With the increasing volume of discarded tyres worldwide, it has become imperative to find eco-friendly and cost-effective recycling methods that minimize negative environmental impacts. The first section starts with a general overview of tyres, which includes their characteristics, distribution, composition and properties, as well as their construction, environmental impact and the take-back process. The main part is devoted to the recycling of tyres that have reached the end of their useful life. This segment focuses on the different recycling methods and the subsequent use of rubber recyclate. The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive literature review on the recycling of end-of-life tyres and to propose possible solutions that could lead to more efficient and sustainable disposal of this particular waste.
