Abstract

The thesis is focused on study of fatigue failure of Al-Mn alloy (AA3xxx) after cyclic loading. The theoretical part summarizes the information about the Al-Mn alloy microstructure and the influence of various parameters on the resulting properties, both in relation to their production and processing and their subsequent applications. Knowledge of the alloy fatigue properties is very poor so the investigation of the behavior under cyclic loading is very important. The practical part discusses the results of fractographic study of AA3003 alloy fractures after cyclic loading and they are also discussed in connection with the number of cycles as well as the character of the microstructure. The results of the fractographic study as well as the microstructure feature are discussed in the practical part of the thesis in relation with number of loading cycles of AA3003 alloy.
