Abstract

The aim of the diploma thesis is the economic assessment of the hydrogen production project under risks over the entire planned lifetime. The diploma thesis, including the introduction and conclusion, is divided into five chapters. In the second chapter the methodology for evaluating investments is defined. The chapter includes description of investment decision-making, basic criteria and indicators for evaluating investment projects, methods and processes for simulations of random variables and sensitivity analysis. The third chapter describes the evaluated project, including the hydrogen production process. Furthermore, the inputs necessary for production and the outputs generated by the project are described. The fourth chapter represents the core part of the thesis, because its the practical part, in which the methodology from the second chapter is applied. First, basic assumptions and input data are set. Subsequently, random variables are determined and simulated. Furthermore, expected cash flows are calculated, including project financing parameters. Finally, the project is evaluated by using the discounted payback period and the sensitivity analysis is performer, as well. The final chapter summarizes and evaluates the achieved results, including proposals and recommendations regarding the feasibility of the project.
