Abstract

The content of this thesis is focused on waste minimization in the healthcare institutions. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts.. In the theoretical part I dealt with legislation of waste management, classification of medical waste and the possibility of gathering and disposal. In the practical part, I described in detail the management of health aids for infants in the Nursery Institute. I focused to the structure, the consumption and the costs of using these tools. I compared the possibilities how to use them. Then I focused on the disposal of waste. There are the charts and the graphs of hygienic production equipment. There is the cost of calculation, the amount of phosphates contained in the washing powders. The time period is from 2007 to 2009. The main aim was to assess the impact of using those tools for environment.
