Abstract

The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create a basic overview of station security equipment used in the Czech railway network, from the perspective of historical development to the present. The work describes the basic types of security devices and their control principles. The external parts of the security device, such as the switchboard, track, signal, were also described here. More space was devoted to the description of the modern electronic security device Modest, which is used on one of the largest sidings in the Czech Republic. The practical as well as the economic benefit of this system was described on an illustrative example.
