Posouzení alternativ investičního záměru

Abstract

This dissertation is called “An Assessment of Alternatives of the Investment Project” and is aimed at one particular company. The thesis comprises of the theoretical background of the topic and of the individual analysis of the investment alternatives.

In my thesis I have given brief characteristics of the company “XY”, short description of its financial situation and its market position in respect to heating technology market. I have further focused on three possible investment alternatives. The alternatives include: production of silumin (alloy based on Al-Si system) exchangers, production of stainless exchangers and construction of an assembly line. Each of the above mentioned options was analyzed in detail while taking into account the costs of the investment, capacity limits, market attractiveness and possibility to be located within the existing premises of the company. For each of the options various production volumes were considered and for stainless exchangers three different models were studied. The results of the analysis led to listing of advantages and disadvantages of the alternatives and finally as the most advantageous option the construction of the assembly line was chosen.

In the following sections of my thesis I have studied the situation on the market with the wall condensation boilers and analyzed the probable competitors of the company XY in this area. The market analysis have identified following countries to be the most significant sales areas for the wall condensation boilers: Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany as well as Italy and France. These markets show important chances and potential for sale of the company’s products.

The last part of my thesis concludes on the information gathered in respect to pros and cons of the investment alternatives under consideration. The unambiguous conclusion of this section shows the third alternative – construction of the assembly line – to be the best solution for the company. The assembly line choice proves to have most benefits, such as lowest investment costs, quickest return of the funds invested and the best prospects for the final product sale.
