Abstract

For three titanium materials labeled Ti Grade 5, Ti Grade 4 and Ti Grade 1 in the work, there was investigated the influence of temperature and the amount of deformation on the structure and evolution of hardness. Ti Grade 5 and Ti Grade 4 were prepared by annealing at 1000 °C/5hrs./furnace with subsequent cold working by rolling. Ti Grade 1 was cold rolled with a gradual increase in the amount of deformation. The goal was to evaluate the behavior of the structure and evolution of the hardness depending upon the temperature and the amount of deformation. The materials in the annealed condition showed lower hardness values than after the cold deformation. Test results confirmed the increase in hardness with increasing degree of deformation. Annealed samples after cold rolling showed low formability.
