Abstract

The aim of the diploma thesis is evaluation of the innovation efficiency of the Czech Republic in the context of policy of research and technological development of the European Union based on the analysis. The partial goal is propose recommendations for enhancing innovation efficiency processed on the based on comparison with selected countries. Selected states are those which joined the European Union in 2004, as well as the Czech Republic. The thesis is structured into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction and a conclusion is the fifth. The second and the third chapter discusses the theoretical background of research, development and innovation and the czech research policy. Chapter four is the analytical part and it is focused on innovation performance of the Czech Republic and comparison with selected countries. The final part of the fourth chapter is devoted to the SWOT analysis, which is based on an evaluation and recommendations designed to increase innovation efficiency of the Czech Republic.
