Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of reduction reactions between slag and metal in the initial stage of pan metallurgy. It is mainly concerned with the influence of easily reducible oxides in the pan slag on the course of steel refining in the pan. In this work, an experiment was conducted in which the chemical composition of the slag was monitored at the argon station of different grades of steel that had been calmed by the addition of aluminum. Effects such as oxygen activity after blowing out the melt on the oxygen converter, the "final slag" index from the slag detection thermal camera, slag entrapment by the ceramic arrow during ramming, aluminum addition during ramming, and the content of the monitored elements in the steel at the argon station were monitored on these steels. The objective was to determine the impact of these effects on the progress of steel refining in the basin.
