Abstract

The main aim of this bachelor thesis with the title „Raw Material Purchases for the Joint-Stock Company, ŽDB Group a. s., závod VIADRUS“ is an analysis of purchase activity in VIADRUS plant. Firstly, the process of purchase is described in a theoretical way and then also the practical part is added. The thesis examines the way in which the plant choose their supplier by the means of selective procedure. It describes the communication between supplier and purchasing agent which is important not only for contract conclusion but also for other cooperation. Then the transportation from the supplier to the plant is described as well as subsequent storage of raw materials. Lastly, the way of assessment of the individual suppliers on the basis of chosen criteria is included.
