Abstract

Bachelor thesis focuses on laser technology and its use in automation. The thesis describes the basic principles of distance measurement using a laser beam and its unique features. One of the main principles of distance measurement is a triangulation method that is used in many realizations nowadays. Another part of this work is to highlight the opportunities offered by simple sensors. I’m showing here on the fact that laser rangefinders today can not only measure the distance, but also surface area, capacity etc. I compared the meters from Bosch and Flex and the result of multi-criteria analysis is shown by cross graph.
