Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the structural analysis of multi-layer overlay on the 22CrMoNiWV rotor steel. Multi-layer overlay was manufactured by the welding technology of 121 (submerged arc welding) using the filler material Union S1 CrMo2V. A detailed structural analysis was performed using light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Furthermore, the hardness profile through the base material/overlay interface was evaluated. It was found out that microstructure in all parts of the weld joint corresponded to tempered bainite and hardness in any part of the weld joint did not exceed the level of 300 HV1.
