Abstract

One of the biggest problems of metallurgical companies are wastes, which generate in the manufacture processes of crude iron and steel as blast furnace sludges and fine converter sludges, which are at present classified as hazardous wastes. Since these wastes contain a significant amount of usable metal substance, metallurgical companies can benefit economically and environmentally in its further process. Currently there are verified new methods, suitable for the recycling of these metal wastes, which then are put into practice. One of the way of recycling of these sludges is their pretreatment of lumpiness with binder and deoxidizer, which is followed by the remelting process. From the point of view of pretreatment, followed by material use, a very important role is represented by a selection of the suitable deoxidizer.
