Abstract
The thesis is aimed at designing electronic servo control with small DC motors. It deals with the inner principle of brushed DC motor and it’s driver, that uses average voltage with switching power supply using pulse-width modulation. The thesis also describes position sensors, such as optical incremental sensors, potenciometric sensors and possibly usage of modern high-resolution digital magnetic encoders. After theoretical introduction, particular solutions are described, such as integrated motor driver, position sensors using integrated MCU peripherals and their enhancements by external circuits providing functions and properties they originally didn’t have. Furthermore, communication peripherals are described. The thesis also includes a list of all supplementary solutions, that were custom made in order to cut the total cost.
