Abstract
The presented work describes the biotechnological potential of the bacterial genus
Pseudomonas. The first part explains in detail the taxonomy of this species, as well as
morphological, physiological and genetic characteristics. The next section contains an
overview of the most important representatives of this bacterial genus and their features.
The effectiveness of antibiotic discs, which were prearranged for grampositive and
gramnegative bacteria, was tested on the representative of gramnegative genus
Pseudomonas during the experimental part. The last part of this bachelor paper is devoted
to biotechnological use of this bacterial genus with a focus on the biodegradation of
organic pollutants.
