Annual report on the activities of VSB-TUO for the year 2024: Main Section

Abstract

The year 2024 was marked by a continued interest in studying at the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and a further development of the educational offer. The University continued to strengthen its attractiveness for both new applicants and current students. The optimisation of the study programmes continued, with an emphasis on their modernisation and the employability of graduates. Support for students with specific needs, the development of preparatory courses and consistent monitoring of the teaching quality also played an important role. The employability of graduates remains one of the key indicators of the quality of university education. The VSB – Technical University of Ostrava has been long cooperating with industry and purposefully developing tools to integrate practical experience into students’ education. High-quality education at the faculties, the services of the Career Centre, the career portal, mentoring, the Career+ fair and the ALUMNI graduate network are integral parts of the support system. In 2024, a new Partnership Programme was launched, formalising cooperation with employers on three levels. The University also continues to monitor the career paths of its graduates through studies and questionnaire surveys.
