Abstract

Diploma thesis describes planing and implementation of a monitoring program for midsize organizations. From all of the open-source tools Nagios system was chosen, bacause of his universal usage. In the theoretical part I’m generally occupy of a network administration, SNMP protocol, modules for charting and a description of the most popular open-source programs. In the practical part I’m focused on the network configuration in a laboratory environment, installation of selected system, his configuration and own scripts.
