Abstract

We can divide this bachelor’s thesis into two main parts. The first part is the project documentation including design of the home for the elderly. The other part is technological and specifies solutions for the glazed arched building envelope. The aim of this thesis is to design a modern option of glazed arched building envelope embedded in Porotherm ceramic system on the home for elderly and to devise technological process for its realization. The use of the glazed arched building envelope was taken into account when designing the layout of this building. Therefore all day rooms and also the main entrance are designed in this section of the home for the elderly. The whole building was situated to use the most of sun light that makes the rooms for activity and leisure cozy and warm. I would like to highlight the possibility of using the good orientation of the glazed arch that is suitable for use of the solar (photovoltaic) cells embedded in the glazed arched building envelope.
