Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of ionic liquids containing imidazole cation and bromide anion on corrosion rate of low-grade steels in acid enviroment. Elektrochemical methods of linear voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and mass loss method were used to determine the corrosion rate. The inhibitory efficiency increased with increasing chain length and increasing concentration. The ionic liquids under investigation are inhibitors of mixed type with predominant anodic inhibition. Ionic liquids were prepared by microwave synthesis.
