Implementácia Cloud FinOps vo finančných inštitúciách

Abstract

The thesis focuses on the implementation of the FinOps discipline in a selected company with the aim of optimizing cloud-related expenses. The primary goal is to reduce costs, while the secondary objective is the successful adoption of a FinOps culture within the organization. The initial part introduces the principles of FinOps and fundamental concepts of cloud computing. Subsequently, the current cloud environment of the company is analyzed from a cost perspective. Based on this analysis, appropriate cost-saving initiatives were identified. Their implementation led to more efficient management of cloud expenditures. Cost allocation and resource tagging played a key role in increasing consumption transparency. The results confirmed that the FinOps approach contributes to savings and more efficient cloud utilization. The thesis also emphasizes the need for cultural change and collaboration between teams. FinOps proved to be a sustainable solution for managing cloud costs.
