Abstract

The diploma thesis focuses on the economic evaluation of an investment in a heat source in a selected industrial enterprise. Two alternatives for the future supply of process steam are assessed, namely the continuation of external heat supply from the existing supplier and the construction of an in-house steam source within the company’s premises. The theoretical part of the thesis outlines the issue of investment decision-making, methods of economic investment appraisal, and the characteristics of selected energy inputs. The practical part is devoted to the economic assessment of both alternatives using selected indicators of investment efficiency. The thesis also includes a sensitivity analysis reflecting changes in selected cost inputs. Based on the results of the calculations, a recommendation is formulated to support decision-making regarding the future method of heat supply in the enterprise.
