Abstract

The Diploma Thesis deals with underground gas storage in the Czech Republic. Each state should have some strategic reserves of oil and gas, in case of emergency situations to guarantee delivery of strategic commodities. The main objective of the Diploma Thesis is to compare the existing running underground gas storages in the Czech Republic as for their basic characteristics, such as the depth of wells, number of wells, storage pressure, cavern fill rate, reserves, basic capital, cost estimate and profit. The diploma work is a description of underground gas storage in the Czech Republic (Dolní Bojanovice, Dolní Dunajovice, Tvrdonice, Štramberk, Třanovice, Lobodice, Háje, Uhřice). The work deals with the Czech oil company and its future underground gas storage in Breclav.
