Abstract

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to elaborate a business plan for starting a business activity and to verify a feasibility of such business plan through available economic methods. The theoretical and methodological starting points were described for elaborating the business plan. Subsequently, they were used in the practical part of the thesis to make a particular plan for establishing a limited company. The theoretical part of the thesis covers definitions of key words related to business activities, definitions of basic characteristics of small and middle-sized enterprises as well as their classification, a consideration of the choice of legal form, and a definition of the legislative framework of business. It also outlines the contents of the business plan and the importance of a successful business strategy. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the elaboration of a specific business plan for the foundation of a firm providing locksmith service. At present, this business plan is really considered for realization. A foundation bugdet with start-up expenses was created. Expected earnings and costs were recorded in the income statement and evaluated by economic results. Consequently expected incomes and expenses were reported in the CASH-FLOW statement. The SWOT matrix was created for the analysis of business environment and the evaluation of individual factors. Based on the research carried out, the locksmith firm should gain a mild profit even in the first year of its existence. Despite the financial demands of this business plan, it can be evaluated possitively as realizable.
