Abstract
The main topic of this thesis is experimental analyse of breakdown strength – Fluid insulating substances. The theoretical section provides basic definitions relating to this issue. The practical part was focused on the experimental assessment of the size of piercing tension in the air electrodes of different shapes and materials, various electrode spacings and also at different temperatures of air, and it summarizes the results of individual measurements. The final part is devoted to model simulations of the electrostatic field using FEM methods and its comparison with the results of the practical part.
