Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of effective use of fire extinguishing agents during fire fighting. The subject of the diploma thesis is to get aquatinted with fire extinguishing agents and their practical usage. Particular fire extinguishing agents are described and categorised in the theoretical part of the thesis. Their properties are described and their fire extinguishing effects are stated. The practical part of the work puts emphasis on fire extinguishing methods, fire extinguishing equipment and fire extinguishing technologies and systems. The thesis includes firefighting equipment and firefighting technologies which have been applied abroad. Individual devices are classified based on practical experiences of fire prevention experts, performed measurements and tests. Pros and cons of the practical usage of individual systems are reflected in the final assessment. They serve as a basis for design of the most optimal and the most efficient ways leading to the increase of effectivity and refinement of fire extinguishing.
