Abstract

ČERMÁK, Dominik. Restoring a city block on the ramparts circuit in Nový Jičín. Ostrava, 2017. Diploma thesis. VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Architecture. This diploma thesis named “Restoring a city block on the ramparts circuit in Nový Jičín” consists of the two main parts. The first theoretical part deals with a historical city construction issue, especially housing and explores the town Nový Jičín from chosen aspects. These findings are the basis of the second design part which leads to a study of restoring a city block in the centre of Nový Jičín. The construction site is defined by the ramparts circuit among Na Valech,Tyršova, Lidická and Úzká streets. Diploma thesis comes with restoring a city block with row houses for living and also defines a small public space. The aim of the thesis is to make a compact structure in the city centre with respect to sustainability and a high-quality private and public space.
