Vliv křemičitanu sodného na vybrané fyzikálně mechanické vlastnosti rostlého dřeva

Abstract

Wood is a natural material with its advantages and disadvantages, which vary according to wooden species. To the advantages we can include easy workability, availability, strength and more. Among the disadvantages we have to mention the need of protection from degradation mainly due to the biological and thermal factors. From this reason, this work focuses on wooden structure, degradation factors and its protection options. Materials modification using known mineralization is one of the ways of wood protection that will be examined in this work. The task of the practical part is mineralization performance of four tree species by dipping method with commercially available silica solution, namely sodium water glass. In this part tests, particularly mechanical parameters - compression strength along fibers and impact resistance, is described and performed. Changes of these parameters are monitored depending on the length of steeping.
