Abstract

In this PhD thesis “Influence of hydrogenium on mechanical property of Ti based alloy with shape memory effect” was followed up the effect of hydrogen on the physical and mechanical properties, microstructural characteristics and transformation characteristics of shape memory effect in two TiNb alloys with 22 at.% and 25 at.% of niobium. Specimens of both alloys were heat treated with various regimes in flowing argon gas and/or flowing hydrogen gas. Among other things were tested different metods of preparation of metallographic sections and suitable etchants for suitable microstructure etching. Synopsis of dissertation thesis is divided into several chapters. The chapters devoted to the theoretical part which deals with the principle of shape memory effect, general division of titanium alloys and their application use, including use for biocompatible applications, there is also included general characteristics of binary alloys Ti-Nb with analysis of stable and metastable product of β phase transformation and effects of selected alloying elements on the properties of β-Ti alloys based on Ti-Nb. The practical part of the thesis deals with the preparation of experimental alloys, describes the equipment, procedures and methods that were used during this work. It also includes experimental results and their discussion. It was performed: study of microstructure, quantitative analysis chemical composition of the samples, microhardness measurement, determination of the hydrogen content, tensile tests and measurement of the transformation curves.
