Hodnocení dostupnosti pobytových zařízení pro seniory v krajích České republiky

Abstract

The aim of my diploma thesis is to evaluate the availability of residential facilities for senior citizens in the regions of the Czech Republic. In this concept, residential facilities for the elderly are understood as homes for senior citizens, which are part of social services. The aim of this diploma thesis is divided into two sub-objectives, while the first sub-objective is to evaluate the development of the selected indicators of accessibility of residential facilities for senior citizens in 2020 compared to 2010. The second partial objective concerns ranking the individual regions in terms of the availability of residential facilities for the elderly according to the TOPSIS multi-criteria decision-making method. The assessment of the availability of residential facilities for the elderly is examined on the basis of seven pre-selected indicators which cover the socio-demographic area, the supply of social services and the demand for social services. To compare the availability of residential facilities for the elderly, the years 2010 and 2020 were examined. For the clarity of the results, map outputs were prepared using the geographic information system QGIS. The result of this diploma thesis is the finding that the availability of residential facilities for senior citizens did not improve among all regions of the Czech Republic by 2020 compared to 2010, and in terms of the influence of the capital city of Prague on the ranking of regions, in 2010 the capital city of Prague had a major influence on the overall ranking of regions in terms of accessibility of residential facilities for the elderly, while in 2020 this influence was smaller.
