Abstract
The thesis is divided into three main chapters devoted to ceramic materials that are currently indispensable component of today´s industrial applications and in particular the conventional materials (such as steel) in areas where these materials for some of its properties are failing.
First chapter describes elementary metallurgical equipments and its steel production principal (iron, steel). Main paragraph of this chapter, is about constructions (structures) of brickwork inside of the agregates. Second chapter describes refractory materials with its primary use, its focused on overbased and alumina-silica materials. The last chapter discloses main features of refractory materials, using computing and test methods (ex. the mechanical and the thermal properties).
