Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the study of underwater wireless communication in a laboratory
environment. The goal is to verify the feasibility of data transmission under water using radio
waves. The implementation was based on the LabVIEW environment and the USRP 210 device.
The theoretical part describes signal propagation in water and various modulation techniques.
In the practical part, Pulse Time Modulation (PTM) was initially considered, but more effective
methods were chosen for testing – specifically On-Off Keying (OOK) and Quadrature Amplitude
Modulation (QAM). The experiments, conducted in a lab setting, aimed to simulate real underwa-
ter transmission conditions. The results indicate that wireless communication is achievable under
water, though significantly affected by signal attenuation and the physical properties of the medium.
The thesis also outlines potential directions for future research in underwater wireless optical com-
munication (UWOC) systems.
