Abstract

Aim of this thesis is the design of arc suppression reactor using network parameters. The first part is focused on description of history of medium voltage distribution networks with earthing for transformer neutral point. Also mathematical models with its basic parameters of the distribution network, especially with regard to the single phase earth fault and issues of tuning arch suppression for medium voltage are introduced. The following section contains basic parameters regarding tuning and draft Petersen reactor. The comparison of analytic and numeric calculation for Petersen reactor is presented at the end. Simulation is performed in software ANSYS Maxwell.
