Abstract
The thesis refers to atmospheric pollution by organic substances in Most and its environs. The evaluation was done within the monitoring station situated in the central area of Most on U Stadionu Street and in Rudolice in Hory, another monitoring station was chosen as a comparison location. The level of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds in the air was evaluated, based on air pollution limits set by Government Regulation no. 597/2006 Coll., from 12. December 2006 on the monitoring and evaluation of air quality. The atmosphere was monitored for a period of 5 years, from 2004 to 2008. Based on monthly average values of pollutant contaminants in 2008, the behavior of each pollutant during the entire year was evaluated.
In monitored locations was also studied the relationship between polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and dust particles PM2,5 and PM10. From the average monthly values collected from the monitored locations, the correlation coefficient for the entire assessed period was calculated. The dependence of volatile organic compounds on ozone production was evaluated by using the same method.
