Abstract

This Diploma thesis concerns the possibilities of evaluation of the percentage of shear fracture of structural steels from the instrument impact test record. In theoretical part are described the evaluation methods of resistance of structural materials towards unstable brittle fracture, Charpy impact test and instrumented impact test. Experimental part concerns verification of various relations using for calculation of shear fracture portion (percentage). The test was performed of standard testing sample for the Charpy impact test. As a base of calculation was taken instrumented impact test (force-deflection). In the work are compared all most used relations mentioned in relevant standards for performance of instrumented impact test. Further was performed a comparison with the values of percentage of shear fracture determinated by standard visual method.
