Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with wastewater in a chemical plant (biological wastewater
treatment plant of the DEZA, a. s.). It is focused on organic substances in order to evaluate
the efficiency of the biological part of the WWTP (wastewater treatment plant) after
reconstruction. In this diploma thesis the characteristics of industrial wastewater is
discussed. In addition, wastewater in the chemical plant and the process of their treatment
are described. The final part evaluates the results of selected parameters (CODMn, CODCr
and BSK5), which were applied to real waters of biological treatment plants, when the
effectiveness of removal of organic substances was increased.
