Využitelnost Baťova kanálu v současném cestovním ruchu

Abstract

The theme of my bachelor’s thesis is Exploitability of Baťa Canal in present-day tourist industry. I think that this theme is very interesting and informative, because this water way is used more and more nowadays. I divided my thesis into two parts. The first one is theoretical. Some basic concepts and classification of the tourist industry are presented here. A brief introduction about the Czech Republic is provided and the tourist potential of the region Slovácko is discussed. The beginnings of the water transport are described at the end of the theoretical part. The following part is the practical part, which deals with the description of the route of Baťa Canal and all important information about funding, annual events, present status, visiting by tourists and much more. The goal of my thesis was to find out usability of this water way in the present tourist industry. Questionnaire research was very important for this part. I tried to determine how much people are informed about Baťa Canal, what they know about it and what their attitude to the intention of its extension to Kroměříž and Hodonín is. In conclusion of the thesis, I summarized results from the questionnaire research and suggested a solution for better awareness of potential tourists.
