Abstract
This work deals with the state housing policy of the Czech Republic. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of selected instruments, specifically rent regulation and construction saving and their impact on increasing the availability of apartments. The first part describes historical development of state housing policies, historical development of rent regulation and construction saving. The second part presents the current housing policy of the Czech Republic, its objectives and there are described state housing assistance programs. In the third part there are presented and evaluated selected instruments of state housing policy of the Czech Republic.
