Abstract

A subject of the thesis is a sensorial analysis of the energy drink “Seraf”. Primary, consumer perceptions of sensorial features of the drink were analyzed and features were compared with competitive products Red Bull, Semtex and Monster. Secondary, it was found out how often and at what occasions are these energy drinks being consumed by respondents; what criteria influence buyers’ behavior; and how likely they feel comfortable with packaging design. The theoretical part describes methods of the sensorial analysis, its implications and hereafter elaborates on data collecting. Focus groups together with a quantitative research (questionnaire) were used for the empirical part. There were 30 respondents involved in the representative sample, all periodic consumers of energy drinks, who had been divided into three groups of ten people. Based on results, recommendations about how to enhance the energy drink Seraf according to consumers’ preferences were proposed.
