Abstract
Diploma thesis concentrates on preparation and characterization of polymer nanocomposite materials based on polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/copper oxide (CuO)/zinc oxide (ZnO) and PVDF/CuO/ZnO/vermiculite. Nanocomposite materials/nanofillers have been prepared by sonochemistry and suspension polymerization has been used for PVDF nanocomposite films synthesis. Nanocomposite materials have been assessed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-Ray diffraction, X-Ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRFS), UV-VIS spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The toxicity of all samples against linoleic acid is also assessed. Photocatalytic activity measurements are substituted by wettability measurements and vibration sample magnetometry (VSM). Each PVDF nanocomposite film exhibits antibacterial behaviour against S. aureus and E. coli.
