This thesis deals with the safe transportation of dangerous goods by road, according to the ADR agreement. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the impacts of traffic accidents, simulation of accidents using ALOHA software and to propose measures to reduce consequences of accidents. The theoretical part is focused on legislation, basic obligations of carriers and approaching the issue of extraordinary events in tunnels. Here are also examples of traffic accidents where a dangerous substance was transported. In the practical part, a simulation of accidents with a dangerous substance was performed using the ALOHA software. In addition, statistics on traffic accidents in the Czech Republic were collected and the main causes of accidents in the transport of dangerous substances. On the basis of the statistics obtained, it has been designed to increase the safety of the transport of dangerous goods by road.
