Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to provide an overview of the current IoT systems for energy recording and construct a sample system in a laboratory setting. We will describe in detail a generic IoT system and discuss all available options for wireless data transfer. Detailed plans of the sample system for measuring electric energy, water usage and natural gas consumption are provided in chapter four and five. The last chapter is focused on the construction of the system and illustrates its pilot use.
