Abstract
Diploma thesis summarizes application of gold nanoparticles as catalysts in oxidation of carbon monoxide. Review confirms application potential of nanogold supported on SiO2. Experimental part describes the preparation of gold nanoparticles supported on silica matrix by biosynthesis and testing of catalytic activity in model reaction – CO oxidation. Biomass of Diadesmis gallica was mixed with 1 mM gold salt solution. Microorganisms act as reducing and capping agent. Biosynthesis takes place in 5 °C and 25 °C. Prepared bionanocomposites were characterized by TEM, XRPD, IR spectroscopy, ICP-AES and after calcinations their catalytic activity in CO oxidation was observed and evaluated.
