Abstract

A new method of determining the softening ratio X was evaluated by comparing stress-strain curves over the yield point. A widely executed experimental program on the computer-controlled torsion plastometer allowed us to provide the mathematical description of the X-value as a function of the deformation temperature T and time t between deformations, temperature of austenitization T(a), strain-epsilon and strain rate-epsilon of the previous pass, respectively. The picture in words refers to a microalloyed steel base of C-Mn-Mo-Nb-V which is recovered in the temperature range from 700 to 900-degrees-C.
