Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with economic growth and development of members of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. Objective of the bachelor thesis is to find out, how the income from the oil, its export and the price of the oil relate with economic growth and development.
The theoretical part consists of term economical growth. The research of empirical litareture consists of positive and negative impacts of raw materials on economics, that are built on this sector. Then follow studies of influence, that oil has on the members of the OPEC. The practical part includes of correlational analysis, which is in form of a scatter diagram. Correlationals are performed by three indicators, a gross domestic product per capita, a human development index and a human capital index with a quotient of the oil export on the GDP, quotient od the income from oil on the real GDP and the price of the oil. Afterwards there is made calculation for the mathematical verification of this relation, which is done by Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The results of correlation analysis support the fact, which is included in the research of the empirical literature, ai it is called „Resource curse“. Even though the real GDP can prove the economical growth on the evidence of ownership of raw materials. On the other hand, the ownership of raw materials has rather negative effect on the human capital index and human development index.
