Abstract

The goal of this Bachelor thesis is to evaluate development and status of foreign direct investment of China in the Czech Republic with emphasis on analysis of the impact of Chinese investment in Czech economy. Thesis devotes to the formation of exclusive competence of EU in the area of foreign direct investment and solution to changes in this area which occurred with implementation of the Lisbon Treaty. It deals with the position of the EU in the world economy within context of foreign direct investment when EU is compared mainly with US and China. Final part evaluates the currect status of China’s foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic and subsequently compares it with other Asian coutries which are implementing their investment activities in the Czech Republic. The thesis also analyzes the impacts of Chinese investment to Czech economy and the potential of Czech Republic for Chinese investors. Bachelor thesis is completed by many graphs and tables which demonstrate the investigation result of the thesis’s goal.
